It’s a new year and of course new years resolutions are in full swing! I signed up to a couple of Spring half marathons at the end of 2014 so I am well into my training regime…. or attempting to be anyway. I made this smoothie after my long Saturday morning run, and not only was it thick and delicious it also kept me full for hours! I know putting tofu in a smoothie sounds a little weird, but it makes it silky smooth and really ups the protein content without adding a lot of extra calories, and I promise you can’t taste it! I’ve mentioned before that I like to use Good Hemp protein powder which is completely natural, unprocessed and grown in Devon – personally I think it tastes better than other brands I’ve tried. I also added matcha green tea powder for energy as it gives me a ‘cleaner’ high than caffeine from coffee and is great for boosting metabolism, as well as chia seeds to up the protein and fibre even more.
